Saturday night fun

After an awesome dinner at Spice I am (as always), we went to the pub next door. As we had half a bottle of wine left over from dinner Little Miss Chatterbox, Pure Blonde and I decided to smuggle it into the pub and finish it. We asked the bar staff for two glasses of water that we tipped into some empty beer glasses and used for drinking the wine. Did I mention I turn 27 this year? But since I'm younger than LMC and PB I don't actually feel that bad about it.

LMC and PB both entertained us with stories about their rabbits. Very different kinds of rabbits though. Then Jompa convinced us all to go to Longrain for dessert. Which was absolutely AMAZING.

The coconut caramel custard with grilled banana was the best.

We played with spoons too. Not too sure what Svenne is doing tho.

And somehow we didn't end up at Karaoke. As far as I know we had even booked a room. But it's probably just as well we didn't make it.

Conversation with Miss Lemona

Marcs, QVB, Saturday 17.30

Me: Ohh this bag is really nice
ML: Yeah it's really nice
Me: Is it real leather?
ML: *sniffs the bag* Nope, it's fake. Like me.

Grasswidow

So we had planned an awesome camping trip to Seal rocks this weekend and just as we had finished organising everything from food to cat sitter, Brett found out that he got a trip to London. :(

Now he's on his way to the airport and will be away for 10 days. Or more if he gets snowed in! So weird. But I might head up to Singapore next weekend to see him if the loads look alright! Yay! Now I'm on my way to the city to meet up with miss Lemona. We're going shopping... And then meeting up with the rest of the gang for some spice i am. I'll try not to end up at karaoke tonight tho.

Happy Birthday Shirin and Australia!

We celebrated this absolutely perfect Australia day and Shirin's second birthday with some wonderful friends and a bbq on the balcony.

Jompa brought these delicious dips. I had far too much of it and couldn't eat anything else for a couple of hours. Brett decided to use our mini spit roaster to cook a chicken and a leg of lamb and I made a caramelised onion and blue cheese tart, a fetta and olive quiche and a potato salad. Yum. There's something very satisfying about dedicating an entire day to cooking and eating.

Of course we had to finish off this lovely lunch/dinner with a...

..PAVLOVA! This is Australia day after all.

ML came around for some entertainment. There's some seriously funny things coming out of this girls mouth. One day I will write a post about it.

Little A came around for a visit.

And of course Shirin had a birthday tuna cake. I can't believe she's two already! Shirin was not happy about having intruders in her house. She was sulking underneath the bed and only came out for five minutes to eat her cake. Such a moody cat.

Now I'm on the couch waiting to get out of my food coma so I can have the last piece of Pavlova before Brett steals it.

Home sweet home

Back in Sydney after a quite relaxing trip to Brisbane. I love coming back home after being away. Even if we've only been gone for 24 hours. Kitty greeted us at the front door and seemed very pleased to have us back. She even demanded pats for more than 1 minute - which is quite unusual for our little furry monster. Now I'm on the couch trying to do some wedding planning. Brett is sitting next to me playing Mario bros.I think i'll join him next time he dies.

Xena

Nicole and Carl bought a German shepherd puppy. I plan to steal her
and bring her back home with us.

41 degrees

Time to get out of Sydney. Heading up to Brisbane for a 90th birthday party. But don't despair- I'll be back again tomorrow. Hope Sydney has cooled down by then. Otherwise we'll have to shave the cat.

SPIEGELTENT

e

Last night Brett and I had a lovely dinner at Garfish in Manly and then went into the city to meet up with gab and kev for some drinks at the Sydney festival! We set up camp in Hyde Park where a little beer garden has been set up outside "the famous Spiegeltent". It was one of those nights when it just didn't get cold at all, which was quite nice. So I guess it's worthwhile putting up with those 34 degree days sometimes.

Nic, Kristin, John, Amanda and Diana joined us a bit later and we were all sitting there peacefully drinking our cider until someone (could have been me) came up with the idea of going to Karaoke....And what else needs saying? I just woke up feeling like death.

Afternoon fika on the balcony

Today is..

..the last day of my holidays. I've been spending it rock climbing at Barrenjoey. Such a fabulous day. Now I'm on the couch at home melting in the heat. 34 degrees is too hot for a Swede. Even for one who has lived in Sydney for 5 years. It really is.

Welcome to 2004

I've just created my first blog
