While I've been away...

I's been a while since I updated my blog. It gets harder to get back into blogging each day I miss out. Lots of things has happened since I last updated my blog with the most interesting thing being my hens night last Saturday. My friends organised an awesome day and night out and I had the best time ever!

They kidnapped me and took me to a picnic in the park with soo much delicious food and champagne.
And made me wear a stupid tiara. Someone will get back for that for sure:)

N came down from Brisbane for a surprise visit which was really great!
Then they had booked out a beauty salon where we got massages, manicure, pedicures, eyelash extensions etc. Afterwards they took me to an awesome 3-bedroom city apartment where we stayed for the night.
They had hired two chefs that cooked a five course feast!  And sometime during the night we also went to karaoke.

Ok, that's the story of my hens night and I'm sticking to it. It was a wonderful day and I have wonderful friends and I seriously had so much fun!

Lovely friends

I found a package from loveliest Bec in my mailbox when I got home today. Inside was an adorable card and a gorgeous white top. Very bridal! And so, so sweet of her! Bec and I did our Bachelor together at UTS and she moved back to Sweden (well she actually moved to Norway) over two years ago now. We actually went to high school together as well but didn't really get to know each other until we met at the other side of the world a couple of years after our high school graduation. I got all sentimental thinking about all the fun we used to have when she lived here. I miss all the laughing, eating, drinking and even the studying we used to do together. I hate it when my friends move away - but I look forward to catching up with Bec next European summer in Sweden!

Speaking of old friends, in just a couple of weeks some other friends, T&K, are coming back to Sydney for a visit and for our wedding! They studied here as well and I practically lived at their balcony on Elizabeth st.  I'm extremely excited to have them back in Sydney and, of course, to see them again. I'm also extremely excited to have two of my Swedish girlfriends visiting Sydney for our wedding -Carro & Andy. Without Carro (as well as SARS, a bus strike and a few other things) I would never have met Brett - which makes it extra special that she's coming to our wedding.

..this dress today. Should I buy it? I think so. Maybe. Or maybe not. Can someone please tell me what to do?

Dangar Island surprise party

We went to a 30th surprise birthday lunch today at Dangar Island at the Hawksbury river that our friend D had organised for her husband. I totally fell in love with the island and all its little cute cottages. It reminded me of a Swedish summer house area so that might be why I loved it so much. I've decided that the members of "proud and confident" (our camping team) are going to rent a holiday house there this summer and go fishing, swimming, kayaking and just hanging.  I took a million photos (or 166 to be exact) so I'll post a few for you to have a look at.

I'm back

I've been sick for a week but feeling better now and ready for some blogging! We tried the food for the wedding today at Athol Hall and got some company from some cute kookaburras.

The food was delicious and I suspect the kookaburra knew that as he was staring at us the whole time, planning an attack!

Fever

I bought a new fever thermometer that displays a green colour when you're OK, orange when you have mild fever and red when you have high fever. I'm clearly not OK! But at least Brett cooked me yummy lamb shanks for dinner.

I haven't felt this miserable for a long time. But the good news is that I've spent all day on the couch (except for a brief trip to the paddo for a wedding dress fitting) and I've almost watched a whole other season of 24 today...

Location:Couch

Cold

I'm starting to get a cold and I can blame Brett for it one hundred percent. Last night I cooked Brett a goulash for dinner when he was feeling sick.

He better feed me something delicious tomorrow night. I'm demanding 'sick girl' treatment and lots of sympathy!

Wedding!

This is the view from Gunners barracks where D&M had their wedding reception last night. It was a beautiful wedding, great food and a great party. A perfect day really. And today the bride and groom are off to France for a five week honeymoon. And we're off to Manly phoenix for a dumpling remedy. And mango pancakes.

But first we have to spend an hour playing with Shirin... She's demanding attention.

My new joggers

I have no excuse for not getting extremely fit now. Our friends are getting married tomorrow so I have to go for really long run beforehand to offset all the unhealthy food and alcohol I'll undoubtedly have at the reception. Right now Brett and I are meant to be finalising what to include in the wedding ceremony but we've decided to watch mad men instead...

Never ending planning

Just as I thought summer was about to arrive it got freezing cold again and hence I'm spending this Tuesday night in front of the fireplace with a cup of peppermint tea. I'm trying to come up with restaurants and bars to take all the Swedes who are visiting Sydney for our wedding to - and this is what I've come up with so far:

  • Sven's viking pizza
  • Manly grill
  • Manly wine
  • Hugos in Manly
  • Grazings
  • Longgrain
  • Garfish
  • Spice I am
  • Buzo and the wine library
  • Sticky
  • Victoria Room
  • Ventuno
  • Probably somewhere in Bondi
  • High tea at QVB
  • The tower st terraces

If anyone has any other suggestions feel free to let me know! Now I'm going to move on to honeymoon planning...
