Snövit

I'm booked in for a mc license course! Which means that soon (if I pass the course;) I'll be able to drive Snövit! I can't wait!

Have I told you that Brett imported a vespa for himself as well? It's red and called Red Mist and looks awesome! It's up for sale though but at a ridiculously high price that no one is going to pay. Which means he doesn't really want to sell it. But who can blame him.

Dickhead

It's Saturday morning, I'm jetlagged and slightly hungover. Maybe that's why I've been giggling to myself for the last 30 min. But you have to admit it's pretty funny.

Summer's here!

There's nothing better than Saturday morning breaky in the sunshine on the terrace!

Back in BA

Since I've last updated we have been to Buenos Aires, the jungle and now we're back in BA again.

The jungle - Iguazu and the famous Iguazu falls we're absolutely amazing. I was a bit sceptical at first of whether a couple of waterfalls really could be as amazing as everyone kept saying - but now I know that they can. Wow! It was really a breathtaking experience and I'm so glad we decided to go.

I don't have any photos of the falls on my iPhone so this picture of Brett in a raft will have to do for now. We went on an Eco tour to check out some of the wildlife, which was pretty cool. We also went on a jet boat tour that took is into the waterfalls - so spectacular, fun and WET!

Now we're back in BA and our beloved Palermo. We're staying at 1551 Palermo again and it just felt like coming home. I love this place.

Yesterday was a massive shopping day. I found a really cool shop and probably would have bought the entire store if Brett hadn't been there to stop me. And I also found the perfect leather jacket. It's black and short and super hot! Brett bought one too so now we're ready to cruise on our vespas!

In a couple of hours when Brett has woken up from his coma (caused by too much walking and meat) were doing a little excursion to a some coastal town. Tomorrow afternoon we're going to try to get tickets to a football game, which I think will be an amazing experience. And on Monday night we're heading back home to our furry monster!

Ps as there's not enough photos in this post I'll show you a pic of my new Marc Jacobs handbag that I got for my birthday. I looove it. Thanks M&P!

El aguamiel

We have checked in to Hotel el Aguamiel in Maipu, approximately 30 min outside Mendoza in the wine district. The hotel is (supposedly) environmentally friendly. Other than the "green architecture" they have used to build the place, we haven't really seen any signs of it being very environmentally friendly though. But either way it's an awesome hotel. It's situated amongst the vineyards and from our terrace we have views of vines and the Andes.

Yesterday we hired bikes and went on a little wine tour. Strangely enough we didn't buy any wine, just whiskey and absinthe?? But we had a lovely day anyway!

The rest of the day was spent relaxing on the terrace with some card playing and vino.

Today we had initially booked in a full day of wine touring but ended up cancelling as we both feel like relaxing by the pool and just being lazy.

Hasta luego amigos!

Mendoza

Mendoza, the wine district of Argentina and an absolutely lovely place. Last night we had some of the best food and wine we've had for a very long time. In fact, Brett reckons the Malbec we had for dinner was the best bottle of wine he's ever had.

Everything is so peaceful in Mendoza. Wide leafy avenues and a very relaxing pace. The only thing the Mendocinos do fast is talk!

Today we went rafting in a river about an hour outside of Mendoza. Let's call it the River of snowmelt from the Andes. It was FREEZING! But the rafting was great fun and overall it was a really good experience. Now we're back in our awesome hotel room debating whether to rent a car and go for a drive and hike up in the mountains or go paragliding tomorrow. I'll keep you posted!

Lazy days

We're sitting on our terrace drinking our local beer Palermo and making some travel plans. Today we've been wandering around town, visiting a museum, doing a bit if shopping and eating delicious steak. I also bought a cute handbag and a few other things. I want to come back here one day with an empty suitcase. Everything is super cheap, particularly leather. My goal is to find the perfect leather jacket for riding my vespa before we leave BA.

Now I need to book some flights before we head out for more steak. I love life in BA.

Day 4

Day 4 of our honeymoon is about to begin and we are trying to plan the rest of our stay. Tomorrow we're off to the wine region - Mendoza where we will spend a bit less than a week. Our original plan was to head to rio afterwards but some visa problems and very expensive flights made us think twice. Now we've sorted out the visa issues at least and will look into flights today. So I'll keep you posted!

We spent most of yesterday wandering around the city, shopping, eating and drinking. We also went to a pretty amazing cemetery where Eva Peron is buried. I'm still so in love with this city, the people, the food and the climate that we've already started planning our next Argentinian holiday. It may involve skiing and climbing...

Day 3

5am in Buenos Aires and I'm wide awake- compared to yesterday when I woke up at 11.30. I hate jetlag! But I guess this is a good time to share some thoughts about BA, so here we go.

The flight

Was awesome. One leg, business seats, good book and champagne.

The first taxi ride

Scary. Have never felt so much like a tourist before. Happy we arrived in the morning.

1551 Palermo

Is the name of our boutique hotel. It's in the trendy area of BA - Palermo Soho and is unreal. 60sqm of awesomeness including a massive spa bath and a huge private terrace.

The city

Love it! It's got such a relaxed feel to it. The people are friendly a d really seem to know how to enjoy life. Palermo is a really cool area with heaps of small bars and designer shops. Everyone in Soho is wearing ray bans and as we both bought a pair before we left we feel quite right.

The food
Last night for dinner I ordered a medium size beef tenderloin that cost about $10. The waiter however recommended that I'd go for a half portion. So I did. And I got 3 massive eye fillets and 10 different compliments. Need I say more?

I was so excited that I had to text our friend D to tell him I had 3 steaks on my plate. I wrote something like "D, I just ate 3 steaks (although that was a lie, I only finished 1 of them) are you proud of me?" And he wrote back "I just got a daughter are you proud of me?".

OMG!! The baby has finally arrived. YES I'm super proud! Congratulations! We will have celebratory steaks and champagne tonight!

Sharing a bottle..

...of Malbec on our terrace before dinner.

Our hotelroom in buenos aires

I looove this city. Will keep you posted of what we get up to. Now we're off to casa rosada and some antique fair. We also have tons of photos on the dslr but as we don't have a laptop I'll post them when we get home!
