So, we're married! The wedding was absolutely perfect and I Ioved every second of it. I'll tell you more about it when I get the photos from the photographer.

Instead I'll show you a photo of my "brand new" vespa from 1965 that my husband gave me as a morning gift. I've been wanting one as long as I can remember and I absolutely adooooore it! I don't have a scooter license tho so I can't actually drive it but it will be the first thing I get when I get back from our honeymoon!

I think this is the best morning gift that has ever been given and I can't believe it's actually mine. I'm so happy to be married to the most amazing, loving and caring man on the planet that I love more than anything else.

Jasper cottage

Just got back home from a midweek escape to a cottage outside of Berry with two of our overseas guests.
The trip started in Kiama where we had lunch and looked at the blowhole.
Then we continued to Berry and Jasper cottage where we stayed for the night. I fell in love with this cottage (I fall in love with most cottages actually) and was dreaming of owning it and decorating it with antiquities.

There was also a ghost living in the cottage. When Brett and LMC went out to get more firewood this chair was facing the other way. And none of us had moved it.
Since we were so scared of the ghost (and T was too scared of spiders) we had to stay up all night playing TP and drinking wine.
We had pyttipanna for dinner and pavlova for dessert.

The next morning we relaxed on the verandah.
And went for a walk on seven mile beach before heading back home.

Old friends

Yesterday morning at 5.30 we picked up our first overseas wedding guests from the airport - t&k. It was great to see them but it just felt completely natural that they were here although it's been over two and a half years since they moved back to Stockholm. I still can't believe it.

After we picked them up from the airport we went back to our place so that they could have a shower and a sleep until they could check in to their hotel in the afternoon. I was super tired as well from waking up at 5 am so I had a very satisfying couch snooze as well. When I woke up Brett had already been to Harris Farm and bought  so much yummy food for breaky and we had a long breakfast on the balcony.

Afterwards we went out to Palm beach to have a coffee and just hang out for a while and soak up the sunshine.

We had a fika at my favourite cafe at Palmy - the boathouse. I love everything about that place.

Then we went for a stroll on the beach.
Brett found some rocks and did some bouldering. Or maybe he was just trying to show off :)

Then we dropped t&k off at their hotel in the city only to meet up with them as well as a few other people for some steak and ribs a couple of hours later.

It's great to have them back and I wish they would never leave!

Backyard bouldering

After a very lazy sunday morning with yum cha and a wander Brett decided to go bouldering in our backyard. As I'm still absolutely thrilled about my new lens I went along to snap a few shots. It's so convenient that we have a bouldering wall just outside our building. No fussing around and walking for ages just to get to do some bouldering. I didn't feel up for exercising today though as we went to our friends PB and N's engagement party last night and ended up having a pretty big night.

Check out this beautiful necklace Miss Lemona gave me for my birthday. I love it!

27

So, I'm 27. Brett is taking me out for a birthday picnic in the sunshine now and I'm going to play with my birthday pressie. A wide angle lens for the DSLR. I love it!

Here's a sample of some photos I've taken with the new lens. Will post more after our picnic!

Vino and final stages of wedding planning

I have been for two runs today and hence think I'm well deserved of a glass of sparkling Shiraz. Today we also met with our wedding celebrant and the photographer to finilise the details for the wedding and we have been spending the last two hours trying to work out the seating plan. It turned out to be more complicated than I anticipated but I think we're on to something good!

When she was little

Just logged into my youtube account for the first time in years and I found this movie from when Shirin was a baby. Is it allowed to be that cute?

This is what she looks like tonight. Still so cute and playful and loving attacks! We just got home from a dinner followed by pictionary at some friends place (they made yummy Satays and Char Kway Tao) and Shirin was waiting for us with her favourite string when we walked through the door. Gorgeous!

Friday night fun

Last night we had Korean bbq for dinner at some restaurant near haymarket. Strange place but the food was absolutely delicious. And I think I have developed a serious kimchi addiction.

After dinner we met up with some friends at Beresford but it was too packed and crazy so we moved on to the Local instead. Had a great night but didn't make the last ferry back to our peninsula as predicted. Hence I'm going to stop writing now and make bacon and eggs.

Miss Marley's

(Picture: 4bars.com.au)

Brett and I had dinner at a new wine bar in Manly the other day called Miss Marley's. It's a small bar "where 1950s' style vintage glam meets the passion of central and south America" (according to their website). But it really does feel like you have been transported back to the 50's and I think this place is exactly what Manly needs, that is, more quirky small bars with good food and wine to take up the fight against all the large pubs and plastic cups. I'm more than excited about this place and can't wait to go back for a Mojito and their divine kingfish and tuna ceviche!

First summer balcony dinner

We had dinner on the "summer" balcony tonight. I can touch, feel and smell summer now and can't wait to spend the next 10 months having dinner out here.

I also baked my mum's "alpine bread" tonight. It's a spiced rye bread that is absolutely delicious. I think we called it "alpine bread" because we used to have it when we went on our family ski holidays. Mmmm looking forward to breaky tomorrow morning. And since this bread is so delicious It will be the first recipe to be published in my blog's recipe page!

First day of spring

So, spring has arrived. We celebrated its arrival by planting a herb garden on our terrace. It was nice to do something that is totally unrelated to our wedding for once. Now I'm off for a run on the beach. Guess that's not totally unrelated to our wedding but still very relaxing. In a way.
